Kingston Siliado, a senior wide receiver for the Saint Louis Crusaders, has been named the 2025 Cover Athlete of the Month, presented by Matsumoto Shave Ice. He is the first athlete recognized for the 2025–2026 school year, following a standout performance in the early part of the season.
Siliado earned the honor after a dominant showing in Saint Louis’ season-opening win over the Kahuku Red Raiders. Facing one of the state’s toughest defenses, he recorded 13 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown, helping the Crusaders secure a 20–0 shutout.
The game highlighted Saint Louis’ balance on both sides of the ball. The defense limited Kahuku to just 120 yards of total offense and forced key turnovers. Late in the first quarter, senior defensive back Urijah Belaras returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown, giving the Crusaders an early lead. In the second quarter, quarterback Nainoa Lopes connected with Siliado on a 22-yard touchdown pass, putting Saint Louis ahead 13–0 at halftime.
Siliado’s impact went beyond the stat sheet. His ability to make clutch catches on third downs kept drives alive, and his field awareness helped Saint Louis maintain control of the game. He consistently drew the attention of Kahuku’s top defenders, creating opportunities for big plays and helping the Crusaders sustain long, methodical drives.
A senior leader on the receiver core, Siliado has been a key part of Saint Louis’ offense for multiple seasons. Known for his quick routes, reliable hands, and football IQ, he is respected by teammates and coaches alike for his work ethic and ability to perform under pressure.
Although Siliado missed the following game against Bishop Montgomery due to injury, his contributions helped the Crusaders start 3–0, giving the team momentum heading into a matchup with the nation’s No. 1 team, St. John Bosco, next Friday.
As August comes to a close, the search for a new Cover Athlete of the Month begins. Who will take the award for September? Only time will tell, with the winner announced in October.
Congratulations to Kingston for being the first recipient of the Cover Athlete of the Month, presented by Matsumoto Shave Ice.
