Honolulu, HI
The 41st annual 'iolani classic tipped off this week as the boys tournament went underway. the Millennium Tigers and Owyhee Storm looked to get one more win in paradise as both teams were the last two standing in the 2025 ‘Iolani Classic Championship match.
the tigers have been making a statement after defeating Brentwood (CA), 'Iolani (HI), and nationally ranked Bolingbrook (IL). the tigers are led by senior guard and Arizona commit, Cameron Holmes and sophomore guard Aden diggs, who have been the teams two players to watch.
as for the owyhee storm, their path of destruction have gone through Damien (HI), Kohala (HI), and nationally ranked Harvard-westlake (CA). the storms are led by senior guard, Logan haustviet, who has been putting up numbers in the tournament.
both teams are current state champions in their state. with the experience and challenges they have faced, the championship match would be one of the most anticipated match in the tournament.
Both teams would keep the game close on championship night. owyhee has been putting on a press all tournament long that has gotten them points off of turnovers and the tigers have been dominating the second half of the games that they played. the tigers struggled at first to put some points. with what looked to be a game that was heading in the tigers way in the second quarter, the owyhee would storm back to be within striking distance.
it would be a close game by halftime and in the early goings of the third quarter. It would be the performance by Tigers Sophomore, Adan Diggs, who finished the night with 24 points and earned himself the MVP award. the tigers would eventually find a comfortable lead to put the owyhee storm away and the Millennium Tigers would be named your 2025 ‘Iolani Classic Boy’s Champion! Congratulations to all the teams that participated in this year’s edition of the Boy’s ‘Iolani Classic Tournament.
