A California vs Las Vegas showdown went underway in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. The top #2 team in the nation, Bishop Gorman Gaels, hosted #8 and previously #1 Mater Dei Monarchs. It was an all star showcase, as both teams and their 4 and 5 star players would look to do the incredible and take out the biggest team in front of them.
After last week loss for the mater dei monarchs, they look to avenge their loss against the Gaels in hostile territory. The undfeated gaels look to get their bounce back win against the monarchs as their were defeated last year in Santa Ana, ca. there was a lot on the line, as possible national championship birth was on the line for the gaels and monarchs. all eyes were set on qb maika eugenio, wr kaina watson, and s jett Washington. the trio for the gaels would be key players to watch as they would look to take down the monarchs. as for the monarchs, it's no question that all eyes were gonna be on future ohio state commit, wr chris Henry jr, and kaydon Dixon-wyatt, and usc te mark bowman.
It was a fast scoring drive for the Gaels led behind Senior QB, Maika Eugenio. The fast start from the Gaels would spark up their defense and they would shutout the Monarchs in the first quarter, but that would soon change when Senior TE, Mark Bowman, would find himself in the endzone to takeover the lead. The gaels would find themselves in the endzone again in what looked to be the led heading into the half. The monarchs would fight back with two field goals of their own to tie things up 14-14 at the half.
After being tied up at the half, the Monarchs scored on their opening drive giving the monarchs momentum. that would be answered right back from the Gaels within 2 drives. Gaels 5 Star Senior S and Oregon commit, Jett Washington, would make a big play late in the game with an interception that looked like the play that would help the Gaels seal a win and add another loss to the monarchs.
After a back and forth game where any team could pull the win, it would be the Monarchs who made the game winning play led by their 5 star Senior WR Ohio State commit, Chris Henry Jr. His touchdown off a double coverage defense sealed the win for the Monarchs late in the 4th and bounce back after last week loss. The Mater Dei Monarchs take down #2 Bishop Gorman Gaels in an all out Goliath battle.
